Danielle Miller is a series regular in series one through four of Heartbreak High. She is portrayed by Emma Roche.
Heartbreak High (1994–1996)[]
Danielle Miller is a sporty and carefree student at Hartley High. Her mother Suzie is an aerobics instructor and she has a 15-year-old sister, Nicole, who also attends Hartley. She has been in a relationship with childhood friend Steve Wiley for 18 months prior to the series, and is best friends with Rose Malouf.
Storylines[]
Danielle becomes the only girl in school to join the school's soccer team in Episode 3. After an initial controversy, she is accepted in the team, becoming the goalkeeper.
Series one chronicles the up-and-downs of her relationship with Steve, which eventually ends in Episode 20, after cheating on him with Nick. She then starts dating Nick, briefly alienating themselves from their friend group, however, their relationship fizzles out by Episode 27.
Her family life is also the focus of several episodes, including when her sister gets pregnant and has to have an abortion, and her mother's brief relationship with Southgate after divorcing her father.
Danielle and Steve get back together from Episode 60, and she is devastated by his death in Episode 66. In her grief, she becomes addicted to amphetamines, and is expelled from Hartley when pills are found in her locker. She accepts help for her drug problem, and is allowed to return to school, however the incident further estranges her from her family, and she decides to move into The Warehouse in Episode 69.
Danielle begins a relationship with Declan from Episode 81.
Danielle develops a passion for journalism, first developed while in Vic Morris' media class, and in several episodes considers leaving school to pursue a career as a television reporter. Just weeks before her HSC exams, she accepts a job at a community station in Wollongong in Episode 91, ending her relationship with Declan and leaving Hartley.

"(Danielle) is living in Bathurst leading the typical life of a university student - working hard, playing hard, Dani is one third of the way through her Communications degree. She won a placement with a local paper and is reporting livestock auction results. It's a small start but she's confident she'll work her way to the top before too long."[1]
